HERMAN MILLER AERON ergonomic chairs

aeron_chairHERMAN MILLER is well known for innovative approach to the design process and the use of advanced technologies. Through proper distribution of weight on the seat and back of chair, it makes it possible to unload the spine and back of the thighs. When you sit the fabric-grid is stretched in two directions, supporting the body and taking a comfortable shape. The patented attachment of upholstery to the frame of the chair ensures the preservation of the susceptibility of form and material strength for a long time.

Choosing the chair, first thing to look out for is how well it can support the body of seated. When sitting at a computer or paperwork, lower back does not rely on the base of the back. Hip joint deviates backward as a result of you slouch and the load on the intervertebral discs increases. AERON ergonomic chair removes the cause of poor posture. Customization tool and the inclination of the chair allows you to simultaneously reduce the load on the lumbar region, hips and sacrum. Because of  the patented system mechanisms PostereFit a pressure of chair back on your lower back can be adjusted, providing maximum comfort and support to unload the spine. Not unimportant point is providing thermal comfort. In this model, using high-tech mesh fabric Pellicle: body naturally breathes without feeling uncomfortable.

The ergonomic chair should be ideal for people with a different constitution, because it allow the fine individual adjustment, maximum well-thought placement adjustments, and also adjustment size and shape of seat, the movement of armrests, change the depth of the lumbar roll and the pressure forces the back. AERON ergonomic chairs designed in three sizes, which are selected according to user’s physique. The qualitative HERMAN MILLER ergonomic chair is maximum durable and has a  warrantee for 12 years.

Main ergonomic chair feature is sitting dynamically

For the correct sitting position it is important an equal distribution of weight, but by itself it is not the solution to all problems associated with prolonged sitting in this position. You are need movements, since it is hurmful not a sitting itself, but a stiffness caused by them.

The natural human needs in movements is very simple explaned: only the constant alternation of tension and relaxation states ensures proper metabolism and nutrition of the muscles and intervertebral discs. Thus, it is clear that the ergonomic chair must ensure not only the correct posture, but also the satisfaction of the movement needs.

The principle of “dynamic sitting” can be formulated as follows: ensuring freedom of movement with adequate support and minimal adjustment of furniture. The main difference with ergonomic chair is a biosinhronny mechanism through which the back and seat of ergonomic chair automatically follow the movements of the sitting man like “second skin”.

Comfort in sitting is often associated with the thick upholstering of chairs. In fact, it does not provide adequate support and promotes the development of incorrect posture.

To correct the wrong posture is only possible if the ergonomic chair insensibly forcing you to take the correct position. A good office ergonomic chair should combine the comfortability and proper sitting pose through the elastic upholstery seat and back, the use of “breathable” fabrics and ergonomic design solutions.

6 ergonomic chair tips

Fundamental health principles in the workplace based on the recognition that bad posture when sitting markedly affects the performance and may even cause serious health damage.

1. Seat

For correct sitting position you need the anatomically shaped seat, on which you can sit deep enough, and which provides adequate support. The chair back together with the chair seat should support the pelvis in the correct position, automatically excluding hunched posture. The front of the seat should be rounded and is covered properly to avoid constriction of the blood vessels of the legs. Upholstery should not be too thick, it should also to be air and steam permeable.

2. Seat height

The seat height depends on the height of the working surface. If the latter is rigidly fixed and not adjustable (standard height – 720 mm) the seat height should be such that your shoulders in sitting were relaxed, and forearms formed a horizontal line with the table surface. To prevent muscle strain in your hands, the angle between the arm and forearm should be at least 90 degrees. The angle of bending the legs also should be 90-100 degrees. People of short stature is recommended to use footrest, so as not to create tension in the muscles.

3. Footrest

The footrest must have enough space for the feet of both legs, the footrest height and tilt should be regulated. Its purpose is to ease the tension in the muscles and avoid overly stretched position feet.

4. Backrest

The form of the chair back should provide the correct curvature of the spine. The top edge of the chair back should reach the area of blades, and the base should keep the spine in the lumbar region. The chair back should be able to recede, providing some resistance to the corresponding weight of a man, and should to return to the starting position.

5. Head position

In the correct position your head should be slightly tilted forward. Stands for the securities and monitors must be adapted to that head position. Vision line, therefore, should be directed slightly downwards at an angle of about 20 degrees.

6. Foot space

It is important to have a table with adequate space for the legs. Items that reduce the space necessary to eliminate, because they lead to a fault in posture and disturb work.

Why do you need the ergonomic chair

Ergonomic Chair

More and more people are now working in the office, and a part of heavy manual labor has been declining continuously. The consequence of this process would seem to be improving the physical condition of people. However, various studies show that the office staff suffer  a number of occupational diseases, and the main one is a back pain.

A wrong sitting pose – one of the most frequent cause of pain in a back and waists. Office worker spends at his desk more than 80000 hours of his life. However, many people sit with hunched backs. While this posture is easy to maintain for a very long time because of the minimal muscle tension, it is most damaging for the body. The load, which do not taken by muscles, is immediately transmitted to the spine.

As a result, the stress caused by the sitting too long in the wrong position, creating pressure on the intervertebral discs and constrained supply the muscles with blood. In addition, it can break down the entire metabolism in general, causing circulatory and gastrointestinal disorders, insufficient blood supply to the legs.

In light of all these facts it becomes apparent that one of the main topics related to health in the workplace is the consideration of a sedentary activity as vigorous activity, and the desk chair as its tool.

The ability for a long time to keep the correct posture without any support is primarily a matter of general health. Thus, a help a person maintain a direct position of the back (even if it is against his habits) is the main task of the ergonomic chairs.

In a seated position with straight back the spine takes the form of the letter S, ensuring the correct posture. The pelvis is tilted slightly forward, supporting the lower part of the spine. Thus, a part of spine at the transition from the sacrum to the lumbar spine is supported by an optimal distribution of weight. Due to the inclined position of the pelvis the thorax is automatically lifted, making it easier to breath. So the spine is slightly stretched, the load on the intervertebral disks is distributed evenly. Support of the pelvis and lumbar spine allows even poorly trained muscles to maintain correct position of the back.
